Born in Dublin/Ireland, raised in Central Switzerland. Studied piano at Musikhochschule Luzern and musicology, German literature and film in Fribourg. Additional studies with Karl Berger (CMS Woodstock/New York), masterclasses in composition with Ennio Morricone, Edison Denisov, Klaus Huber, Heinz Holliger and Hanspeter Kyburz. Has composed two operas and a multitude of other works. Recorded five solo piano albums (2002 CD “Flügel”; 1998 ”The Well-Prepared Clavier”, 1989-94 “blue trilogy”) and with Julie Tippetts, Corin Curschellas, Gabriele Hasler, Peggy Lee & Dylan van der Schyff, Evan Parker, Eddie Prévost, Chris Cutler, Robert Dick, Daniele Patumi, Hans Kennel, Gene Coleman, Gianluigi Trovesi, Christy Doran, Patrice Héral and Alex Cline a.o.
